POLICY AND REHABILITATION

At your workplace, there is a policy that shows how your employer views the use of alcohol and drugs at work and in your free time. Here the company shows what happens if you come to work affected or if you use drugs. The policy also shows what responsibility the company has when an abuse is discovered and that rehabilitation always precedes a dismissal.

All measures in the policy aim to help you as an employee to become aware of, address and treat an addiction or abuse. Feel safe to contact your employer if you experience alcohol or drug problems.

See “Alcohol and drugsolicy ” here.

REHABILITATION

You will not be fired from your job if you have an alcohol or drug addiction. Occupational health care determines whether it is actually classified as abuse and in those cases, your employer must offer you rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation means that a plan is made together with you, where rules are set up for both you and your company. It is just as important that you take care of your commitments as that the company takes care of its own. If you show up drunk or with a very bad hang-over at work, it is not classified as an addiction and you can be fired immediately.
