Accidents involving fire are often very serious. Fire spreads quickly and smoke both blinds and suffocates.
The risk of fire and its serious consequences is always a threat in a workplace or at home. In order to minimize that risk, it is required that one has an understanding of this and possesses the knowledge required to be able to prevent or limit such an event.
Here we go through what you need to know before a fire, how you can act if you discover that there is a fire, and what the fire brigade wants to know if they arrive at the scene. The following parts are included:
- Knowledge of the various points in an action plan in case of fire.
- Handling of different types of extinguishing equipment that are usually on hand at a workplace or in the home.
- How to make a fire patrol in a workplace.
- What increased risks exist in the event of a fire in a kitchen.
- What an emergency exit/escape route should look like.
- Preparatory work for supervisors.
- Rehearsal and practice.
This course takes about 20 minutes to complete and ends with a knowledge test. Good luck with your education!
